Arrangements for protecting children and vulnerable parents
Strengthening Families has a Safeguarding Children Policy and Protection of Vulnerable Adults Policy in place which sets out the relevant procedures for staff to enable them to protect your children and you whilstresiding with us.
We also use body maps to ensure the welfare of your children whilst protecting our staff team from any potential allegations against them. A body map will be completed each night before your child is put to bed and each morning upon your child waking, you are required to initial/sign the form to confirm you agree with any recordings. Any marks that are found not to have previously been observed may result in safeguarding procedures being initiated.
You will also be required to observe then sign a body map any time your child is left in the care of a member of the staff team during meetings/court hearings/assessment and/or therapy sessions or when out for a cigarette, these are protective measures for your child and our staff, they are not used to trip you up or to cause upset and could contribute towards evidencing the appropriateness of your parenting over the course of the assessment.
